About Pedro

Pedro Gómez Vilda was born in Burgo de Osma, Spain. He received a degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 1978 and a Doctorate in Computer Science from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1983. He has been a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid since 1988 and Director of the Laboratory for Neuromorphic Speech Processing at the Center for Biomedical Technology since 2010. His current research interests are biomedical signal processing, monitoring of functional, neuromotor and cognitive diseases through voice, speaker identification and production and cognitive perception of speech. Dr. Gómez Vilda is a member of the IEEE, ISCA and EURASIP.
